From my perspective as CTO, I valued Sam’s curiosity about technology. He was willing to learn the nuances of integrating an API or MCP server and put new ideas into practice that became team standards. I could count on him for an honest perspective, even when it differed from my own.

I’m pleased to recommend Sam Fiske for a content, media, or communications leadership role. I worked with Sam at Kingscrowd, and as the founder of Crowdwise and author of its articles and educational content, I appreciated both the editorial and technical sides of his work.
Sam’s responsibilities spanned our newsletter, podcasts — including Inside Startup Investing and the Kingscrowd Podcast — video, and content operations. He also coordinated webinars and in-person events that were major revenue drivers for us through sponsorships. These involved much more than producing good content: they required keeping sponsors, founders, speakers, and our internal team informed, prepared, and on schedule.
Sam reliably served as the trusted point of contact for our content and sponsorship partners, always conducting himself professionally and with a service-oriented approach.
Our multi-day Investment Crowdfunding Week events were a particularly good example. They brought together founders, investors, and industry leaders for one of our most prominent programs. Working remotely, Sam managed the many moving pieces and follow-ups needed to turn a calendar full of busy people into a cohesive event, including sponsor recognition. I appreciated how much persistence, organization, and relationship management that took, and how directly the work contributed to our business.
From my perspective as CTO, I also valued his curiosity about technology. Sam explored Claude to make content workflows more efficient, built dashboards to track media and audience growth, and sought out resources on data visualization to improve our newsletters. He was willing to learn the nuances of integrating an API or MCP server and put new ideas into practice that became team standards.
What I valued most, though, was Sam’s judgment about people. He brought perspectives that others might overlook and helped us consider how our work would be received by the people reading, watching, or attending. He was comfortable disagreeing and explaining why, while remaining thoughtful toward his colleagues. I could count on him for an honest perspective, even when it differed from my own.
Sam brought warmth, initiative, and a broad range of practical skills to our team. He became someone I valued as both a colleague and a friend. I would gladly work with him again and recommend him to a team looking for someone who can lead its content and media efforts, coordinate complex programs, and understand the people behind the work.
